For many travellers, yes. January is usually one of the quieter months at the Haram, with milder temperatures than the summer. That makes it easier for elderly travellers and families with young children.
How far in advance should I book for January?
Six to eight weeks is usually comfortable. If you need dates around New Year or the winter school holidays, book earlier, as those weeks fill faster.
What's the weather like in Makkah and Madinah in January?
Both cities are at their mildest, with comfortable days and cooler evenings. Bring a light jacket for early morning and night prayers, particularly in Madinah.
